The Maccabees, Camera Obscura, Mumford & Sons and a trio of techno talents confirmed!

Just announced to entertain Balado this July are Glasgow's very own Camera Obscura, who recently released their fourth album 'My Maudlin' Career' to great acclaim. Bring their delectable gems to Balado on Friday 10th July, the band have a Spector-esque tinge that will encourage much shimmying.

The Maccabees join the King Tut's Wah Wah Tent bill on Friday 10th July.  Following the success of their debut LP 'Colour It In', the South London five-piece have made a welcome return to form with their eagerly awaited second album ‘Wall Of Arms’ which has just been released through Fiction Records. Having worked with producer Markus Dravs (Bjork, Coldplay, Arcade Fire) on the album, the band recently played Glasgow and Edinburgh to an enraptured audience – they’re sure to repeat at T in the Park and pick up more fans along the way.

Also added are BBC's Sound Of 2009 talent tip Mumford & Sons who emerged from the same London folk scene as Laura Marling (and recently supported the singer to wide praise). Heavily influenced by Americana, the band cut a fine line in charming songs featuring banjo, double bass and four part harmonies. They open the King Tut's Wah Wah Tent on Saturday 11th July.

Over in the Slam Tent, dance fans are in for an audio adventure as a trio of techno talents - Joris Voorn, Ben Sims and Funk D'Void complete the Slam Tent roster – with only the best in this age-old business of music-to-dance-to. As a DJ and live performer, Joris Voorn has huge global appeal – lucky then that he’s making a stop for his debut slot at Balado this summer. Ben Sims is one of the UK’s biggest techno exports and producers having helped run a staggering 9 labels.  There seems to be no end to this man’s talents or touring schedule - he’s been tearing up dance floors for over 10 years.  And rounding things off is Glasgow's Funk D'Void - aka Lars Sandberg - who is currently signed to Slam's Soma label and recently teamed up with fellow resident Sian on ‘Ginebra’. With a new album on its way a warm welcome back to Scotland is not far off either when he opens the Slam Tent on Sunday 12th July.
